Privacy Policy for Interval Beeper
Effective date: September 6, 2026
Short version: Interval Beeper does not collect, store, or share any personal data. Everything you enter (interval programs, beep settings, and workout timers), stays on your device. The only outside service the app talks to is Google Play, to process an optional one-time in-app purchase.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Interval Beeper Android app ("the app"), developed as an independent, single-developer project. It explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
Information we collect
We don't collect any personal or customer data. Interval Beeper has no user accounts, no sign-in, and does not send your workout programs, settings, or usage activity to us or to any analytics, advertising, or tracking service. The app has no server backend of its own.
Specifically, the app does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or other contact details
- Location data
- Device identifiers used for advertising or tracking
- Analytics or usage statistics
- Crash reports sent to us
Information stored on your device
Your saved interval programs and beep/tone preferences are stored only in the app's private storage on your device (using standard Android local storage). This information never leaves your device, is never transmitted to us, and is removed automatically if you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)
Interval Beeper offers one optional, one-time in-app purchase ("Beep Settings") to unlock additional customization. This purchase is handled entirely by Google Play's Billing Library. We never see or store your payment details (card number, billing address, etc.). Google processes that transaction under its own Google Privacy Policy. The app only checks with Google Play whether you own the purchase, and stores that yes/no entitlement flag locally on your device.
Permissions the app uses
- Notifications: used only to show the ongoing workout timer/beep countdown notification while a program is running, so it can keep running reliably in the background. Never used for marketing or promotional notifications.
- Foreground service (media playback): lets the app keep playing interval beeps and updating the timer notification while it's in the background or the screen is off.
- Billing: required by Google Play to offer the optional in-app purchase described above.
None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit personal data.
Third-party sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any data to share in the first place. The only third party involved at all is Google Play, solely to process the optional purchase described above.
Children's privacy
Interval Beeper does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13, since the app does not collect personal information from any user.
Data retention and deletion
Since no data is collected or stored by us, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. Any data stored locally by the app (your programs and settings) is removed the moment you clear the app's storage or uninstall it from your device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does collect data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
